4G And Its Impact On Telematics

We live in a day where modern technology is advancing at unprecedented rates. There are, of course, advantages and disadvantages both to these rapid changes in technology. Communication systems, for instance, undergo changes and improvements at a fairly quick pace. It's not just cell phones that are affected by this rapid change: Devices that implement a telematics system are impacted, too. As far as tech advances go, improvements to communication networks and the unveiling of 4G took place ages ago, however, 4G and its impact on telematics is just beginning to be discovered.

Traditional 4G Usage

Most people immediately associate 4G with smartphones. It was the technology responsible for improved internet connectivity in smartphones, tablets and other devices that use Wi-Fi. It made travelling outside of your home network and still being able to reliably connect to the internet a reality. While its traditional use has been for personal devices like smartphones, tablets and other gadgets, it is also used in other ways.
