Fleet Management: Wireless Matrix Announces Further Penetration Of Cable Industry With Cable One Inc. Agreement
Wireless Matrix Corporation recently announced that it has signed an agreement with Cable One Inc. to provide cellular broadband data services for Cable One's Work Force Management(WFM) system. Together with Ventyx, Wireless Matrix becomes a key partner for Cable One's 650 vehicle fleet WFM System. Under the terms of the agreement, Cable One has the option to purchase either the Wireless Matrix Vehicle Telematics Communication Unit (VTCU) or Terrestrial Mobile Base Station (TMBS) broadband data units in any combination in order to meet the agreement.
The ability to purchase undesignated quantities of each unit allows Cable One broad flexibility in deploying units based on the strongest broadband network available – EVDO or EDGE – in the markets that they serve.
"Service to our customers and communities is our first priority at Cable One and as our business grows, we are committed to building an infrastructure that will enable us to continue supporting our same-day service guarantee," said Tad Drescher, Manager: Process Improvement. "Having Wireless Matrix as a part of our WFM System will help us remain the low cost provider of next-generation communications services to the markets we serve."
Cable One will also implement FleetOutlook, Wireless Matrix's web-based fleet management application that provides vehicle GPS, mapping and activity reporting. FleetOutlook will integrate with existing Cable One field service applications from Ventyx to increase productivity and reduce costs through enhanced monitoring of operations.
"The addition of subscribers within the Cable industry illustrates the applicability and value of our solutions to broader markets," said J. Richard Carlson, President and CEO of Wireless Matrix. "We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with Cable One and are gratified that they selected Wireless Matrix to play a role in this important project."
