Fleet Management Brews Efficiency
By Brian Albright, Field Technologies magazine
This coffee delivery company has gained an hour per driver, per day with improved fleet visibility.
Avita Coffee & Provision is an office coffee service company in South Florida with a fleet of six vehicles including a service truck to restock supplies at each location and service the equipment they provide. The company’s delivery trucks have set routes drivers are scheduled to follow each day. Each route includes anywhere from 20 to 25 stops where drivers deliver product and clean equipment.
Prior to its new fleet management solution, Avita had very little visibility into how the vehicles were being operated in the field. “Drivers made all their stops, but we really didn’t know what was going on during the day,” says Avita president James Clancy. “Occasionally we’d get a call from someone telling us our trucks were not where they were supposed to be. We wanted a way to supervise the trucks once they were on the road.”
