Field Service: Corrigo Work Order Software Enhances Capabilities For Field Service Workers

Field service technicians will have better access to data on work orders and assets in the field, including new options for updating work orders from the job site, with Corrigo's Winter 2007 upgrade to its web-based work order software.

Corrigo's new Voice Portal enables field service workers to accept, manage and close work orders in the field in real time using standard touchtone telephones. Constant communication is possible with workers, vendors and subcontractors without devices in the field. With Voice Portal, service alerts can be sent to anyone with access to a telephone. Voice Portal is also helpful for recording and attaching voice notes to work orders.

Field service workers also benefit from the Winter 2007 upgrade's integration with TeleNav GPS Navigator, allowing technicians in the field with GPS-enabled devices to easily receive onscreen driving directions to the next work order site from the current location. Corrigo automatically feeds work order addresses into a TeleNav GPS Navigator (purchased separately), giving techs the ability to reach job destinations with greater speed and accuracy, eliminating the need for paper maps and phone calls to obtain directions.

The Winter 2007 Upgrade also expands work order data that is visible and manageable by techs in the field. This includes asset and work order history, warranty information for assets being serviced, reasons for work orders placed on hold, due-by-dates, priority reviews and invoice settings.

"We are committed to our customers and are responding with enhancements that significantly improve the way their field service operations work," said Richard Michaux, president of Corrigo. "As our customer base upgrades, they will see significant productivity and efficiency benefits."

Other highlights of the Winter 2007 Update include:

  • expanded support for international addresses,
  • enhancements to the Customer Portal which provide greater flexibility and improve communication with service requestors.
