Ferroxtag
Product Description
Ferroxtag is a new family of RFID tags suitable for operations attached to metallic items, such as totes, barrels, gas cylinders, and industrial equipment. Operation frequency is 13.56 MHz. Ferroxtag supports ISO15693 and ISO18000-3 air interface, with a typical 1 watt reading range 30 cm on metal. Longer range versions are available. Overall dimensions of the standard tag are 25 x 12.5 x 5 mm, including the holes for screws.
Ferroxtag's key feature is the direction of the field activating the device. It is not perpendicular to the tagged item but parallel to it, meaning that the tag's performance is almost independent of the material of the item identified. There is no need to worry about electromagnetic reflection on metals.
The Ferroxtag core is an outstanding, high magnetic permeability ferrite material from Ferroxcube that enhances the performance of the winding, thus reducing the dimensions of the antenna coil.
Company Overview
Ferroxcube is formerly a Philips company now belonging to the Yageo Corporation, one of the world's strongest suppliers of passive components.
Ferroxcube is widely recognized as a leading supplier of ferrite components, with manufacturing operations, sales offices, and customer service centers all over the world. Our history dates back to World War II.
Using our years of experience in ferrite technology, specifically in radio frequency (RF) transponder antennas, we have created Ferroxtag. Using a special ferrite antenna structure, Ferroxtag provides excellent performance in "on metal" and "on liquid" applications where regular tags fail.
