Mobile printing developer eliminates use of environmentally hazardous materials

Waltham, MA - Extech Data Systems, a leading developer of portable receipt printers for enterprise-wide applications, is happy to announce the implementation of full RoHS compliance over its primary printing product line. By adhering to the EU Directive 2002/95/EC, Extech Data Systems has ensured the restriction of the use of hazardous substances in all electrical and electronic equipment.

The RoHS standard, which seeks to eliminate the use of environmentally-sensitive materials such as lead, mercury, cadmium, Hexavelent Chromium, PBB, and PBDE flame retardants, is primarily a European initiative. Extech, however, made the decision to offer a fully compliant product line available worldwide, providing customers with an extremely versatile solution that conforms to the requirements of an initiative that is fast gaining attention on the world stage. The Extech Data Systems’ S1000T, S1500T, S2500THS, S3750THS, S4000T and S4500THS portable printing units are currently distributed in correspondence with the accepted concentration (less than 0.1 percent) of the aforementioned substances.

Not only do Extech Data Systems’ printers combat the mounting problem of toxic e-waste, they are durable, highly economical, and reliable tools for the mobile workforce. Units are available in a range of sizes from two- to four-inches and are offered with a variety of accessories that ensure the worker is capable of fulfilling every printing need while on the go.
