Emtec Introduces First Truly Mobile & Secure Clinical Workstation Solution For The Healthcare Market

Current Industry Solutions Limitations:

COW's or computers mounted on rolling workstation carts, have limited battery lives. There are also security issues with some of the data being stored locally on the COW. Laptops and tablets are similar, and because of their portability, are prone to be stolen or misplaced.

Once they are finished and ready to move on, they simply remove the smart card, and the screen goes blank ready for the next user's unique smart card to be inserted. This is desktop portability, meaning that as a user moves around the hospital, from mobile workstation to mobile workstation, floor to floor, building to building, their personal desktop follows them around. In the hospital's data center, their desktop is still running, waiting on them to log in via their smart card to use again. Their data is backed up, secure and unavailable to others without proper access.
