EDW Digital Writing Solution Platform Release 7.6 Now Available

Advanced print capabilities in latest software release allow users to gain full control of printing digital forms on demand at the desktop, enabling seamless deployment of digital writing in any business environment

Release 7.6 of the award-winning EDW digital writing software platform is now available from ExpeData and its partner network.

The release includes wide availability of the EDW Desktop Print Manager application previously available as a beta release. The enhanced print capabilities allow users to gain full control of their digital forms by printing when and where they need to, on demand, right at the desktop. This advanced functionality overcomes a major digital writing solution implementation hurdle and makes deployment of a digital writing solution seamless in any business environment, regardless of company size.

Desktop Print Manager is a Windows application for printing forms and documents on digital pattern. This industry-leading print functionality embedded within the EDW digital writing platform allows virtually any document to be printed on digital pattern at the desktop in minutes. It is a feature well-suited for any business that requires print flexibility, as well as those enterprises that may not have access to commercial print capabilities.

The EDW Desktop Print Manager handles three main categories of print jobs: predefined forms, ad hoc documents, and notebooks. Desktop Print Manager allows forms predefined for digital writing to be printed on demand with variable data such as part numbers. The variable data can be easily imported via a CSV (comma-separated values) file. The documents are then integrated with the EDW digital writing platform. Users can view these documents and quickly generate output for integration with back-end business systems (ERP, CRM, Sharepoint, etc). This streamlined process significantly reduces redundancy in data capture and reduces manual workflows.

Through the ad hoc forms functionality, existing business documents can be converted to PDF and printed on digital pattern without having been formally defined using the EDW platform. This allows for additional flexibility in that any document can be instantly repurposed for digital writing. Desktop Print Manager also provides a mailbox feature for these documents which allows the information to be shared across the organization as needed. When these documents capture data via handwritten strokes, a PDF copy arrives in the Desktop Print Manager mailbox, as well as the user?s email account. Additional recipients can also be designated to receive copies via email. This functionality allows data capture to be shared in near-real time across an organization, and enables better communication and more efficient workflows.

"With this release, the EDW platform once again sets the bar for ensuring the most complete and flexible digital writing platform solution for companies of all sizes, from small and medium to the largest global enterprises," said Brandon Major, VP and COO, ExpeData. "Offering „on demand at the desktop? print functionality helps customers manage printing in a way that meets their specific business needs while increasing ease of implementation and use for our clients."
