Don's Mobile Glass Implements FleetMatics Software To Improve Customer Service
Mobile Glass Installation Company Saves Time and Money with GPS Tracking System
FleetMatics, a market leader of GPS tracking for commercial fleet vehicles, announced recently Don’s Mobile Glass has selected FleetMatics to provide GPS fleet tracking solutions. The FleetMatics solution will deliver operational efficiencies and improved vehicle tracking capabilities allowing Don’s Mobile Glass to provide enhanced customer service.
Don’s Mobile Glass started in 1960 with one truck. After 50 years, the company has expanded to over 70 vehicles and provides high quality auto, residential and commercial glass installations. With headquarters in Modesto, CA, Don’s Mobile Glass prides itself on community involvement and customer service. Bill Manuel, Vice President of Don’s Mobile Glass, knew the benefits of utilizing a GPS tracking system to gain fleet visibility and wanted a solution that could offer convenience and functionality.
“The FleetMatics GPS system efficiently provides us with the information and data we need in order to increase productivity and performance in an accessible format,” said Manuel. “We installed the system on 45 of our vehicles and will be switching the remainder of our fleet to FleetMatics shortly.”
The FleetMatics GPS Vehicle Tracking System has an extensive reporting suite and proactive alerts that will automatically notify Don’s Mobile Glass if a driver exceeds a specific speed, if the vehicle idles for longer than allowed, or if a vehicle enters an unauthorized area. With the FleetMatics GPS vehicle tracking installed, Don’s Mobile Glass found that the extensive reporting features in the FleetMatics system easily provided the information needed.
The GPS tracking solution also includes a Nearest Vehicle Locator feature to make it even easier for Don’s Mobile Glass to dispatch the vehicle closest to any job site. With just a click of the mouse, dispatchers can see the vehicles that can get to the next job first. This increases response times and allows the company to get more jobs completed per day.
“The FleetMatics system is very user-friendly and gives me the data that I want without even having to go to the computer,” said Manuel. “If vehicles are being used after hours, the system automatically emails me. If a vehicle needs service or if a driver is going too fast, I get an email.”
FleetMatics GPS has not only improved the efficiency of techs in the field, it has also considerably cut down on the time Manuel spends on managing his fleet.
“With the old system, I would come to the office really early and spend three hours a day reviewing what the vehicles were doing and who was doing what during night deliveries,” said Manuel. “Now, I’m spending just 10 minutes in the morning.”
“FleetMatics’ expansive solution is designed for small to mid-size companies, like Don’s Mobile Glass, that are looking to improve operational efficiencies and gain more visibility,” said Jim Travers, FleetMatics CEO. “We are confident the GPS tracking technology will further support Don’s Mobile Glass in their efforts to provide excellent customer service.”
