International recognition confirms DLI's commitment to quality standards and customer satisfaction
DLI, a leading manufacturer of rugged tablets, invehicle and industrial computers, and mobile POS devices announced that the DLI Taiwan facility has been awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification, demonstrating DLI's ongoing commitment to quality processes and standards. The move comes as DLI looks to leverage their expanding pool international expertise while embracing global standards of manufacturing to provide best-in-class products to its customers.
Customers deploying mobile computing solutions rely on DLI rugged tablets for the uninterrupted capture, communication and collaboration of business-critical data throughout the entire mobile enterprise. ISO 9001:2008 certification assures customers of DLI's strict adherence to documented processes and procedures, developed to ensure ongoing improvements in the design, manufacturing, and service of DLI's world-class rugged computing devices.
"Achieving ISO 9001:2008 certification is an incredible milestone for both DLI and the users of our rugged devices," said Kevin Chen, general manager of the DLI Taiwan office. "The certification process required a lot of hard work and a dedication to excellence, both of which have been demonstrated by our entire team during the run-up to certification."
The ISO 9001:2008 standard specifies Quality Management System (QMS) requirements focused on an organization's ability to meet and improve upon customer satisfaction and quality requirements. As part of the certification process, DLI established its own QMS, both in Taiwan and at their LaPorte, Indiana corporate facility, to ensure its worldwide commitment to total customer satisfaction. By identifying areas for improvement, creating recommendations to resolve identified gaps, and executing against these recommendations, DLI is ensuring that it has in place the global processes necessary to consistently improve product and service quality on a regular, quantifiable, and demonstrable basis.
"We have already established benefits from the new procedures at the Taiwan facility, especially regarding supplier selection and methods of communication," said Mike Bayer, Quality Assurance Manager at DLI. "The global QMS structure we've established allows each team to focus their core competencies, allowing a greater flexibility for improvements throughout the entire organization. We will be able to use this focus to increase our customer satisfaction through improvements to both our products and our operations."
