Agentek Enables Real-Time Proof of Delivery with Bar Code Scanning and Electronic Signature Capture
December 19, 2006 – Agentek, Inc., a leading wireless mobile computing solutions provider, today announced that Delivery Specialists Inc. (DSI), a leading door-to-door delivery logistics provider, has selected its real-time mobile proof of delivery solution to help increase employee productivity and operational efficiencies. The bundled offering is a subscription-based Agentek/Cingular/Symbol Technologies solution comprised of Agentek’s powerful suite of mobile computing applications, Cingular’s nationwide* EDGE wireless data network and Symbol Technologies’ MC70 rugged Enterprise Digital Assistant (EDA).
DSI is experiencing increased pressure from their customers to improve delivery data that is transmitted back to the enterprise for supply chain visibility purposes. The Agent Fleet™ mobile solution will allow for increased proof of delivery compliance from their network of contract delivery drivers and provide drivers the visibility into delivery activities from which their compensation is calculated. In addition, they will also be able to proactively manage delivery exceptions through constant real-time interactivity.
With this new bundled offering, DSI is looking to Agentek for a robust and cost-effective mobile computing solution to provide real-time proof of delivery for their customers in the office products delivery and medical pharmaceutical delivery market segments. Agentek’s mobile computing solution, consisting of the MC70 EDA which offers multi-mode communications, including cellular voice/data communications, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth to enable real-time access to people, information and critical business applications, will improve DSI’s communication across operational silos, and improve customer service with real-time visibility of the delivery including dispatch, store operations and customer operations.
