The SkyBitz Falcon GXT5002C will be deployed to increase visibility and save time spent searching for misplaced trailers
Herndon, VA (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - CRST Expedited Inc., the largest operating company of CRST International Inc., and Telular, the leader in IoT Telematics solutions, today announced that CRST Expedited is installing the SkyBitz Falcon GXT5002C solar-powered fleet management system on 3,500 of its trailers. By utilizing SkyBitz’s asset-tracking technology, CRST Expedited gains greater visibility into its assets; drastically reducing time spent chasing lost or misplaced trailers and vastly improving driver efficiency and satisfaction.
For nearly eight years, CRST Expedited searched for an asset-tracking solution that would meet its needs to accurately and effectively identify the precise location and status of its assets in the field. After much consideration and due diligence, CRST Expedited participated in a year-long pilot study with SkyBitz that quantifiably showed how SkyBitz could improve CRST’s business operations.
“Before implementing SkyBitz we recognized an opportunity for improved trailer tracking mechanisms. In the past we’d have a trailer in a location and a customer using it without any visibility or ability to track which created a lot of frustration,” said Cameron Holzer, president of CRST Expedited. “It’s essential that drivers know where trailers are so they don’t waste time and resources searching. As part of an ongoing initiative to increase driver satisfaction, we recently implemented the largest driver pay increase in company history. With SkyBitz’s help and advanced capabilities, we can continue to improve driver satisfaction and successfully meet our business goals.”
The SkyBitz Falcon GXT5002C is SkyBitz’s second solar-powered GPS asset management solution providing enhanced asset utilization and cargo visibility. CRST Expedited will benefit from its energy-efficient, wireless sensor capabilities, low cost of ownership and long service life.
“We are pleased to partner with CRST Expedited; it has been personally gratifying to work closely with them from day one, and for them to decide that SkyBitz is the solution that will ultimately assist in their efforts to increase business efficiency and improve driver satisfaction. We’re thrilled to work with industry-leading, innovative companies like CRST Expedited, which are committed to improving their drivers' daily lives,” said Henry Popplewell, President, SkyBitz. “By adopting our latest solar telematics technology, coupled with our Customer Experience team, CRST Expedited receives best-in-class solutions, as well as timely support and insights every step of its journey.”
