Caddo Electric Cooperative Improves Visibility Into Field Operations With Automatic Vehicle Location System From Clevest

Clevest Solutions Inc., a leading provider of mobile workforce automation software including smart grid deployment and post-deployment operations exclusively for the utility industry, announced that Oklahoma-based Caddo Electric Cooperative has successfully deployed its Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) system to improve visibility into field operations serving members throughout the state.

Caddo has simultaneously integrated Clevest's AVL solution with its Milsoft DisSpatch outage management system (OMS) to predict and respond to major and minor outages in a more informed, effective and efficient manner. In addition to Clevest's AVL solution, the coop has already deployed Clevest's Smart Meter Exchange solution to streamline the meter deployment process for its recent AMI project.

"We're confident that our AVL solution is the most usable, functional and visually appealing browser-based system available to utilities today," emphasized Doug Engerman, SVP Global Sales and Marketing, Clevest. "This deployment underscores the strong business fit of our utility-specific solution, and we're pleased to add Caddo Electric to what we anticipate will be a growing portfolio of AVL projects this year," Engerman added.

Oscar Codopony, Director of Operations, Caddo Electric explained, "We had a great experience working with Clevest on our AMI implementations so, when it came time to evaluate AVL systems, we definitely wanted a more in depth look at what they had to offer." Codopony continued, "With AVL now in place, we can better connect and coordinate the field and the office thanks to real-time information on the status and location of our crews. We can also respond more quickly and safely to outages by leveraging the proven integration between Clevest's solution and our Milsoft OMS."

Clevest's browser-based AVL solution provides a single, integrated view of a utility's asset infrastructure and the real-time, GPS-based location of vehicles within it. Using dynamic icons and graphics on the AVL map, utilities can track all vehicle locations, determine the closest vehicle to a task, monitor or query the status or progress on a task, and quickly address any issues that may occur.

By integrating Clevest's AVL solution with Milsoft's OMS, utilities can further improve response time during outages with by viewing the status on location of vehicles in real-time on outage management maps. The combined solution helps utilities provide even greater crew support and safety during outages and enhance customer satisfaction with higher standards of performance in the field.
