Boeing has over 10,000 mobile personnel who perform field service and inventory management functions daily. Previously, Boeing field personnel relied on paper-based field service and inventory management forms, which were both inefficient and error prone. They were required to complete paper forms by hand resulting in time wasted managing an inefficient, labor-intensive process. Boeing's back office staff was then required to manually enter this data into Boeing's backend systems, resulting in numerous transcription errors.

Using MobileFrame software, Boeing was able to quickly create and deploy an electronic version of their Inventory Order and Scheduled Maintenance Request to personnel in the field. Now, as Field Service personnel complete the Inventory Order, barcode scans of the inventory are automatically captured and embedded in the workflow. All Inventory Orders are synchronized from the field and automatically updated in Boeing's back office AssetSmart Inventory system. This results in greatly improved efficiency and immediately enhances the Boeing's bottom line.
