AssetZure, a turnkey bar code solution for asset tracking and management, has now been launched and has already been implemented at a number of sites.

Effortless implementation distinguishes this system from many others in the market. It is an excellent solution for smaller companies without a dedicated IT department, yet powerful enough to address the needs of large companies as well. Very little training is required and the uncomplicated operation reduces human error to a minimum.

“Although most companies are aware of the benefits of automating asset tracking and management, the high cost of such a system has always been a prohibitive factor,” said Stef du Plessis of Osiris Technical Systems. “By teaming up with Barcode101, an affordable and trouble-free solution is now on the market.”

AssetZure is a multi-user, wireless asset tracking and management solution. Each asset is identified with a unique bar code and linked to a specific location. By recording acquisition, sales, disposal and movement of assets, theft and loss of assets can be kept to a minimum. Assets can be managed and accurate records kept.

“It is a legal requirement for companies and entities to have an asset register,” said Mynhardt du Preez of Barcode101. “AssetZure keeps track of the book value and depreciation of your assets for both tax and accounting purposes and takes care of the legal aspect. It does not break the bank and takes the headache out of tedious record keeping.”

The cost of the application could be kept to a minimum by the innovative software and using a modest, yet powerful wireless data collector. Although the Opticon OPN2001 is remarkably low priced and only the size of a matchbox, it can scan and record up to 15 000 bar codes together with a date and time stamp. The data is transferred to the PC with a USB cable and the software takes care of the rest.

Application adjustment to user preference can be made. Bluetooth connectivity is also possible when using the Opticon OPN2002.
