Analyst Q&A: Field Service Update

In October 2006, analyst firm AberdeenGroup held its inaugural Chief Service Officer's Summit, which addressed the emerging strategic focus on service chain operations by service organizations, manufacturers, and utility companies. Surveys conducted during the summit found that nearly 3/4 of delegates managed their service operations as profit centers, with 57% of delegates deriving more than 21% of overall profits from service.
