Accenture And Indus To Help Paks Nuclear Power Plant Improve Core Asset Management Capabilities

Accenture (NYSE: ACN) and Indus International Inc. (NASDAQ: IINT) have signed a multi-year agreement with Paks Nuclear Power Plant, which generates 40 percent of Hungary's electrical energy, to help the Hungarian company improve its core asset-management capabilities by optimizing its plant operations, maintenance and information technology infrastructure. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Under the agreement, Accenture will support Paks Nuclear Power Plant's asset- management capabilities by helping the company classify and prioritize maintenance work, improve reliability, reduce recurring maintenance, optimize inventory levels and availability of spare parts, predict equipment failures and accelerate response times to internal and external partners.

"This agreement is designed to help Paks Nuclear Power Plant improve the information capabilities needed for key business decisions and activities," said Luca Cesari, a partner in Accenture's Utilities industry group.

To help enable these capabilities, Accenture will implement Indus Asset Suite software, a solution that helps enterprises manage their assets throughout their lifecycles. Accenture and Indus will work together to streamline Paks Nuclear Power Plant's business processes, providing the workforce and the management with better and faster access to information. This should help the company reduce operations and maintenance costs, increase workforce productivity, rationalise work processes, reduce inventory, increase customer satisfaction, and ensure public safety and regulatory compliance.

"This strategic project will lay the foundation for the next level of asset management efficiency and operational safety," said Istvan Kocsis, CEO of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant. "The Indus Asset Suite platform will serve as the new integration platform for our future IT architecture and the realigned business processes will enable us to further increase our market competitiveness."

"Indus has taken an early lead in the Central European utility market with the implementation at Paks and a similar asset management contract with the Czech Power Company, CEZ," said Greg Dukat, Indus president and CEO. "This agreement clearly demonstrates that Indus Asset Suite is the solution of choice for leading power companies in Europe aiming for maximum competitiveness and efficiency in an increasingly challenging business climate."
