Revolutionize How Field Technicians Access And Capture Equipment And Task Information With The New Alchemy Software Platform From TerraXML

Drive Greater Service Efficiency and Quality to Keep Equipment in Operation

TerraXML recently announced the release of Alchemy (http://www.terraxml.com/products/alchemy), a new web-based software application designed to provide users with a single source for accessing and capturing up-to-date field service information. Representing a fundamental shift away from traditional file-based content management tools, Alchemy streamlines access to detailed equipment information by intuitively associating it with the bill of materials (BOM), worksite, and customer that it supports.

Through the platform’s high performance REST API, Alchemy has been designed to integrate with existing business systems (PLM, ERP, CMS, MRO, and CRM) for centralized access to service information; extending the value of, and access to, technical information without requiring costly user licenses. Alchemy also allows content to be synchronized to individual devices, enabling it to be accessed across both online and offline work sites.

Uniquely, Alchemy is capable of displaying service information and tracking maintenance histories associated with individual (serialized) pieces of equipment. This lets manufacturers and service providers to better support complex and/or custom product configurations, and track performance.

“This is a landmark product release for TerraXML,” stated Victor Perez, CEO of TerraXML. “Prior to the release of Alchemy, we relied on the highly configurable TerraView application framework for delivering individualized solutions to our customers. With Alchemy, our customers gain out-of-the-box access to a fully developed application geared to address field service needs. As a result, we can deliver high value field service applications faster and at a much lower price point.”

Using Alchemy, technicians don’t lose valuable time searching for up-to-date information required to complete service and maintenance tasks. Work can therefore be completed faster and with higher quality. Equipment then stays in service longer, helping to maximize production and revenue.

“The TerraXML development team has done an incredible job creating Alchemy,” added Jim Russo, Vice President of Engineering at TerraXML. “Not only does the application leverage the most modern web and programming tools, but the system architecture provides a robust foundation for adding function-specific modules and integrating with telemetry connected devices. This elevates Alchemy into a category well beyond a simple content delivery tool, into a dynamic solution for accessing, capturing, and interacting with field service data.”

“The release of Alchemy comes at the perfect time,” continued Perez. “Globally, manufacturers are actively looking to deploy new tools focused on improving field service operations; however the majority of the tools serving the market are focused on workforce scheduling. Alchemy picks up where these tools leave off, enabling technicians with the knowledge they need to execute tasks once they arrive at a worksite.”
