Publisher/Editor In Chief Sarah Nicastro talks one-on-one with Jeremy Jones of Comfort Systems USA about the company’s objective to standardize field service management.
At the WBR Field Service USA conference in April, I met Jeremy Jones, VP of IT at Comfort Systems. Jeremy and I had a great conversation about Comfort Systems’ current initiative to automate its field service operation. Comfort Systems is a mechanical systems installation and services provider with 39 operating companies in 90 locations and 1,400 field technicians overall. Many of those companies are using different methods for field service management — various technologies, some paper-based — and Comfort Systems is trying to determine the best way to standardize. As you can imagine, a field force automation project with an operation of that size is quite an undertaking. I enjoyed Jeremy’s perspective on the process the company is currently going through and the viewpoint of IT on field service automation in general.
