Keys To Developing A Successful Mobility Road Map
By Brian Albright, Field Technologies magazine
Don’t embark on a mobility project on a whim — having a solid strategy and road map in place first is crucial.
Whether your company is embarking on its first mobility project, or you are a longtime mobile user looking to upgrade an existing system, you need a well-thought-out plan to ensure the application does what it is supposed to do. Even more importantly, you need a mobility road map — a long-term plan to maintain the viability of the solution(s).
Many companies deploy mobile devices to solve a particular problem, but without much thought as to how that system will work with other enterprise systems or what other areas of the business might benefit by using the same or similar mobile hardware. Silos of mobility begin to develop within the company. That prevents the enterprise as a whole from optimizing resources and creating a plan to successfully support and expand these solutions over time.
