Kenco Adopts SmartDrive Technology For Fleet-Wide Roll-Out

Event Recording Program Expected to Improve Fleet Safety and Reduce Costs

SmartDrive Systems, a leader in driving performance solutions that reduce collisions and improve fuel efficiency, recently announced that Kenco, a leading provider of integrated logistics solutions, real estate services, and material handling equipment, has selected SmartDrive’s event recording system for roll-out across its entire nationwide fleet to improve safety and lower costs. With insurance costs on the rise, Kenco sought a video-based safety solution that provides actionable insight into safety events, but also includes a structured coaching workflow to facilitate consistent implementation of the SmartDrive program across the fleet.

“Safety is a priority for our company and we continue to invest in solutions that help us reduce risk while improving operational efficiency,” said Jeff Tanner, vice president of risk management for Kenco Management Services. “Through our partnership with SmartDrive, we expect that we will be able to better manage our operational costs and deliver outstanding service, all while protecting customers’ freight and keeping our drivers safe.”

SmartDrive’s unique open-platform approach captures the broadest spectrum of risk in the industry, so that fleets can focus on coaching the right drivers at the right time. The result is improved safety and reduced costs. Kenco plans to leverage SmartDrive’s easy-to-use Response Center and its “3-Steps to Coach” workflow which includes the following:

Video event player with an interactive Active Safety System gauge, providing a single, unified view of driving insight that includes active safety system data plus driving and vehicle data

Real-time email alerts that notify supervisors and managers when critical safety events occur —separating “no risk” from “high risk” events

Insightful, interactive dashboards and reports with program KPIs and analytics appropriate to each level of management—from executive, to manager and supervisor

“We are proud to have been selected as a partner by Kenco, a company that understands every second counts when it comes to safety,” said Steve Mitgang, CEO of SmartDrive. “Kenco serves a diverse group of customers, requiring an open, scalable solution with the flexibility to be tuned to its specific safety priorities. Our configurable program was designed from the ground-up with this in mind, enabling Kenco to protect its drivers and reduce collisions without requiring them to fit in a ‘one-size-fits-all’ box,” added Mitgang.
