Juniper Systems’ long-awaited Archer 2 rugged handheld certified for hazardous locations (Archer 2 Hazloc) is now available. Archer 2 Hazloc is certified Class I, II, & III, Division 2, designed to perform safely in hazardous locations where flammable gases, liquids, vapors, dusts, or fibers and flyings may be present.

Class I, II, & III, Division 2-certified handhelds are important to industries like oil & gas, petrochemical, public works, and utilities, where workers regularly face environments that may contain flammable substances. Archer 2 Hazloc is not only certified safe for use in these types of conditions, but also eases the data collection process, improving productivity for workers, while keeping data safe from the elements.

The Archer 2 sports features like a superior IllumiView display—providing excellent outdoor view-ability, a huge battery with 20+ hours of runtime, an ultra-rugged, dustproof, waterproof, and shockproof design, enhanced GNSS performance, extended Bluetooth range, a barcode scanner, and RFID-compatibility.

“Archer 2 Hazloc meets the safety regulations as required for Class I, II, and III hazardous locations, while providing the features that make the job easier for workers,” said Remington Rainey, Industrial Market Manager at Juniper Systems. “People love the extra battery power and super-crisp imagery. It’s a powerful, compact handheld that does the job effortlessly, while providing protection against environmental hazards.”

More information about ATEX-certified Archer 2 handhelds will be coming in the near future.
