The nature of exception-based reporting prevents IoT data from overwhelming the global cellular networks.

One would assume, in a day where the Internet of Things (IoT) market is stronger now than it has ever been, that networks are working overtime and being pushed to the limits. And while the global adoption of IoT applications accelerates at meteoric rates, there must be an onslaught of Big Data output overwhelming the global cellular networks, which are often the backbone of these IoT applications.

Fortunately, the M2M networks powering much of today’s IoT applications are not about to send a “capacity reached” message to users. In fact, the devices connected to these networks are not constantly communicating with other devices or the device owners. It is rather the opposite.
