Energy Regulator - Canada, A Case Study
Source: Xplore Technologies
When inspecting a drilling rig or processing plant, the inspectors had to review all approvals and licenses, as well as all previous inspections. They also had to evaluate the on-site equipment and make certain it was running efficiently. An inspection at a drilling rig could take between two and four hours, while an inspection at a processing plant could last as long as three days. Preparation for the inspections took up to 24 hours’ time and the inspectors were required to carry around large binders containing all of the relevant codes and specifications to conduct each inspection.
