Clevest Solutions Launches To The Utility Industry Version 3.3 Of Its GPS-Enabled Automatic Vehicle Location Solution

Latest release supports both ESRI- and browser-based mapping and integrates seamlessly with Clevest's mobile workforce management solution

Clevest Solutions Inc. announced the availability of version 3.3 of its GPS-enabled Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) software solution. Built on best practices specific to utility field operations, the latest release makes managing a mobile fleet easier and more convenient with ESRI- and browser-based mapping capabilities in the office and in the field. The new capabilities are integrated with Clevest's mobile workforce management solution for a single, geographic view of a utility's asset infrastructure and the work created, assigned, performed and managed within it.

"Clevest is singularly focused on meeting the field operations needs of utilities that are currently underserved by more generic workforce management software," emphasized Lily Ligocki, Vice President of Product Marketing for Clevest Solutions. "It's this focus that has driven us to go beyond the simple display of trucks on a map to provide the office and the field with the full context of the actual work that's performed day-to-day. It's this integration between our new AVL mapping abilities and our own workforce management solution that will help to set our Mobile Field Force platform even further apart from other products available to utilities."

For the office, the new ESRI-based AVL solution can be installed or accessed more widely via a browser. In either case, utilities can now use GIS overlays for an at-a-glance, geographic view of its asset infrastructure in relation to its mobile resources. Orders can now be created directly from the AVL map by clicking a GIS asset, location, address or latitude/longitude coordinates, instead of from a stand-alone mobile workforce management system. For even greater convenience, utilities can use the AVL map to easily find and view the status and workload of mobile resources, and assign orders appropriately using simple drag-and-drop operations.

The new AVL solution also now extends ESRI-based mapping to the field, which provides mobile resources with the benefits of having a more comprehensive view of work at their fingertips. Mobile workers can also now proactively create orders directly from maps on their handheld devices as necessary.

With its new ESRI- and browser-based mapping for the office and new ESRI-based mapping for the field, the combination of Clevest's new AVL solution and its mobile workforce management solution offers utilities a single, powerful view for managing mobile operations. With an integrated solution as opposed to stand-alone products, utilities can assign routine work more efficiently, respond to emergencies faster, direct mobile resources more effectively and manage their vehicles more optimally.

About GPS-enabled AVL
Designed specifically for the utility industry, the AVL solution geographically correlates GPS information about the location of mobile resources with a utility's asset infrastructure, and integrates with Clevest's mobile workforce management solution to support map-based work assignments. Utilities can install the solution within the enterprise or have it hosted by Clevest. The GPS-enabled AVL solution improves the safety and productivity of field resources, shortens the response time for outages, and controls fleet costs while reducing fuel consumption and emissions to support green fleet initiatives.
