Airline increases order of Xplore XC6 ultra-rugged tablets

Xplore Technologies Corp. manufacturer of the most powerful, longest-lasting, ultra-rugged and fully-rugged tablets, recently announced additional orders for its XC6 Windows tablet PCs by one of the world’s largest and most well-known airlines. The new order extends the previously announced multi-million dollar project, arming the airline’s ground crews with ultra-rugged tablets at airports across the U.S.“The deployment of our ultra-rugged XC6 tablet has been very successful and we are happy to see orders expanding with the airline as they continue their roll-out,” said Philip S. Sassower, CEO and chairman of the board for Xplore Technologies. “As we win the trust of our customer and they continue their enterprise rollout, we are hopeful our relationship will grow.”

The airline, which operates locations throughout the continental U.S. and across the globe, uses Xplore Technologies' ultra-rugged tablets mounted in open-top vehicles that operate in the elements 24 hours a day, year-round. The XC6's computing power and ability to operate in temperatures ranging from-30⁰ F to 140⁰ F makes it the perfect tablet solution for the extreme environments found on airport tarmacs.

“We are very encouraged that after deploying the XC6, the airline has not only decided to continue but expand their use of our ultra-rugged tablets,” said Mark Holleran, president and COO. “It is a testament of our ability to provide the industry’s most durable technology to excel in the toughest environments endured by airport ground crews across the country.”

The XC6 is certified MIL-STD-810G, rated dust and waterproof (IP67), and can withstand seven-foot drops. The XC6 features the most advanced sunlight readable display in the market, with backlighting and technology that makes it easy to read in direct sunlight. It also features glove-touch technology, which enables touchscreen use while wearing gloves as well as when the screen is wet or dirty.
