LTE capability gives customers a faster and smarter rugged experience

Xplore Technologies Corp., manufacturer of the most powerful, longest-lasting and rugged tablet on the market, announced a new LTE-enabled iX104C5 Dual Mode Sunlight Readable (DMSR) ultra-rugged tablet. The new LTE-equipped rugged device will give customers increased connection speeds and capacity, reduced energy consumption and lower overall operational costs in the field.

With LTE onboard the already best-selling DMSR tablet, Xplore customers will now be able to work more efficiently in the field with increased data transfer speeds. Additionally, the new device will feature all of the DMSR’s standard features including its award-winning display that can be easily viewed in all lighting conditions, including direct sunlight.

“Giving our customers the option to deploy LTE capability means we’ve given them the option to conduct their business smarter and faster than competitors,” said Mark Holleran, president and chief operating officer of Xplore Technologies. “We’ve chosen to improve upon our already best-selling model with the DMSR LTE, to offer a faster and more operationally efficient rugged option in the field.”

Xplore Technologies’ iX104C5 is the most rugged, powerful and longest-lasting industrial tablet PC in its class. The new DMSR LTE is optimized for all industries, including oil and gas, construction, law enforcement, telecommunications, utilities and government agencies, and will be sold through channel partners for $4,999.00.

The iX104C5 DMSR
The iX104C5 DMSR rugged tablet is Xplore Technologies’ most popular model. It features an award-winning AllVue Xtreme LCD sunlight readable display that can be easily viewed in all lighting conditions – even in direct sunlight. Inspired by more than a decade of first-hand customer experience, the DMSR can withstand a seven-foot operating drop to concrete, complete exposure to four inches of rain an hour blowing at 40 mph for 30 minutes per side, and blowing dust and sand at 30 mph for 30 minutes.

The iX104C5 DMSR features an Intel Core i7 processor, allowing mobile workers to deploy high-end enterprise level applications with confidence and reliability. The tablet comes standard with Windows 7, but can be upgraded to Windows 8 to increase efficiency and capacity.

The DMSR is completely upgradeable and field replaceable, which minimizes downtime and improves efficiency in the field. The iX104C5 DMSR rugged tablet also features the highest capacity lithium ion battery in its class, ensuring 68.5 watt hours of battery life.
