Remote Monitoring Consolidates Deliveries To Boost Efficiency

Remote monitoring has enabled a 45 percent delivery efficiency improvement for Retif Oil.

Fuel delivery has always had some built-in inefficiencies. Most companies follow a “keep full” model when it comes to restocking fuel tanks, making regular stops to top off those tanks whether they are nearly full or nearly empty. Without an accurate view of customer fuel stocks, it is difficult to determine who needs to be serviced or how much fuel they actually need.

Retif Oil & Fuel in Harvey, LA, has deployed a real-time, wireless fuel tank monitoring solution that provides the company with an up-to-date view of customer inventories and has helped reduce the number of refueling visits its drivers have to make each week.

Retif provides retail and commercial fuel and lubricant delivery services to gas stations, fleet operators, and other customers across the South. The company manages fuel inventories for most of its customers, and drivers make frequent stops to replenish their tanks.
