Fleet Management: Wireless Matrix Receives Orders For 2,250 VTCU Units And Accompanying FleetOutlook Subscriptions
Wireless Matrix Corporation recently announced the receipt of additional orders for 2,250 Vehicle Telematics Communication Units (VTCU) and FleetOutlook Application Service subscriptions from an existing key FleetOutlook client.
The units ordered represent a further expansion of the client's ongoing business relationship with Wireless Matrix. To date, over 570 of these units have already been shipped and installed with the balance of the orders to be completed during the 2nd quarter.
With the activation of these units, this customer will have over 17,000 units operating on the Company's FleetOutlook application. Most notably, almost 1,000 of the orders came from a new operating group not anticipated as part of the original deployment. Management believes this deployment will ultimately grow well beyond 20,000 subscribers when fully mature.
"We are very pleased to continue building upon the successful foundation we've established with this strategic client," said J. Richard Carlson, President and CEO of Wireless Matrix "Their expanded use of FleetOutlook provides a strong confirmation of the value of our products and services to field operations and fleet management."
FleetOutlook is hosted by Wireless Matrix and delivered as "software as a service". It combines vehicle communications, GPS location and mapping capability, and vehicle monitoring and reporting to improve fleet performance and reduce operating costs. FleetOutlook supports optional vehicle telematics reporting with interfaces for OBDII, CAN and J1708. FleetOutlook allows customers to increase fleet efficiency and safety, reduce expenses, control fuel costs, and do more with their existing fleet assets.
