Enterprise No-Code Application Platforms: The Next Big Thing For IT (And Field Service)

Like any good business owner, you continue to modernize your business to ensure its continued success. And if you aren’t, maybe we should take a step back to help get you caught up. Remember the 80s – leg warmers, Jazzercise, and MC Hammer parachute pants? Well, the 80s were also a time when businesses were putting in ERP systems to computerize their end-to-end business functions. As a result, they gained a tremendous amount of productivity, efficiency, and visibility into how a business ran. In the 1990s, businesses shifted their focus to improving the customer experience by adding a CRM system and gained a “360-degree customer view” as a result. The 90s also brought us the Macarena … but let’s not go down that path.

And, while ERP and CRM allowed businesses to become more streamlined and dynamic, these two systems combined to create a tremendous amount of data that required a great deal of computing power to make it usable. Enter the “CLOUD.” Cloud computing during the first decade of the 2000s gave businesses the flexibility they desired to maneuver and analyze information with just a few clicks within their web browser. Today, we’ve doubled down on cloud computing to power our current mobile computing phase. Like the software solutions that preceded them, cloud and mobile have taken over to be the significant opportunity to improve business operations. And let’s be real, we need someplace to put all of those selfies!
