An Overview Of The 2020 Field Service Industry Pulse Check Report
Large or small, field service organizations (FSOs) have been operating as best as any of us can since the COVID-19 pandemic began dominating the industry earlier this year. And while FSOs have had to learn to cope with disruptions caused by societal upheaval and natural disasters in the past, the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic are unprecedented.
From shutting down for weeks to adding new technologies at an accelerated rate, FSOs have not only risen to the challenge but in many ways have reinvented themselves as well as the industry. To better understand how people have adapted to the “new normal”, Turbo Systems polled more than 250 individuals in the industry — field technicians and company owners alike — from a variety of companies around the world. The results have been published in the Turbo Systems 2020 Field Service Pulse Check Report which reveals strategies and solutions your organization can implement to not only survive but thrive in these uncertain times.
For this report businesses that employ 50 to 500 people are classified as mid-market; those businesses employing more than 500 people are considered enterprises. Nearly 41 percent of respondents work for an enterprise-sized firm, and 58.98 percent of respondents work for either a mid-market or enterprise-size company. Fifty-five percent of respondents are individual contributors or team leads, a group that also includes respondents who have labeled themselves engineers.
