Turlock Irrigation District Increases Driver Safety And Enhances Productivity

Source: Trimble Field Service Management

Established in 1887, Turlock Irrigation District (TID) is the first publicly owned irrigation district in California. It is one of only four irrigation districts in the state that provides irrigation water as well as electric retail energy directly to homes, farms and counties. It has maintained and managed businesses located in Stanislaus and Merced counties for 125 years. TID's goal is to provide customers with a reliable supply of water and to meet the growing demand for energy and affordable power.

"We oversee two areas," says Transportation and Facilities Department Manager Jason Hicks: "Irrigation, with canals that require upkeep, management and maintenance; and electrical, which includes power plants, power lines, substations and their management and upkeep."
