One of the United States’ largest wholesale distributors of residential and commercial plumbing supplies, as well as heating and cooling equipment, recently took a hard look at its mobile device deployment for possible cost savings.

The company deployed 4,600 devices across a network that supports every aspect of the business covering 1,400 locations in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, the Caribbean and Mexico. The devices were a critical lifeline to maintain the wholesaler’s long-established, excellent relationships with its customers and suppliers. Since there was no way to know how well or even if devices were being used, it was impossible to determine if improvements could be made and cost savings realized.
