PeopleNet Certifies Zebra TC70 Device

Ruggedized handheld capable of running PeopleNet software

PeopleNet, a Trimble Company and leading provider of fleet mobility technology, recently announced its certification of Zebra Technologies’ TC70 Mobile Computer to run PeopleNet software. This certification allows fleets to deploy proprietary apps, third-party programs and PeopleNet software all on the same device.

The certification of the TC70 supports the growing industry demand for company-owned, personally enabled (COPE) devices. PeopleNet aims to give companies greater access to a range of commercial-grade mobile devices, matched to individual trucks, with the framework to support multi-platform accessibility and enterprise mobility management.

“Not only does the certification of the TC70 give drivers the ability to use a highly durable and functional device, but it allows fleets more choices in selecting the right technology to enable increased efficiencies in their business,” said Tom Fansler, Executive Vice President, Product for PeopleNet.

The Android-based TC70 includes a barcode scanner and camera, ideal for data capture in the food service and private fleet industries. The handheld device can also withstand extreme conditions and operate reliably after multiple 6 ft./1.8 m drops to concrete and within a temperature range of -4° F to 122° F (-20° C to 50° C).
