Infor Delivers Enhanced Mobile Equipment Solution

Provides Greater Visibility, Work Order Access and Invoicing Capabilities

New York, NY (Marketwired) - Infor, a leading provider of beautiful business applications specialized by industry and built for the cloud, today announced Infor Mobility for Field Service, a comprehensive mobility solution that is designed to streamline activities for technicians operating in the field. Infor MFS, version 15.6.2, designed by Infor's creative agency Hook and Loop, doesn't just replicate back-office processes on a mobile device, it delivers a purpose-built mobile field service application to manage work orders for users of Infor M3, an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.

The solution is developed to solve industry-specific challenges. Companies using Infor MFS will receive real-time transaction data from their technicians, enabling faster invoicing which can help improve cash flow. Field technicians have a variety of statuses that can be set against a work order, including start work, stop work, to be re-signed, defer work, report work, travel back, arrive back and reject. These status changes are reflected within M3 so back-office planners can monitor the status and completion rate of the technician's work and be in a position to assign new work with a high level of confidence that it can be completed on time.

The off-line capabilities of MFS allow technicians to complete their work efficiently and then synchronize transactions when they have connectivity. Two-way integration with Infor Document Management allows back-office staff to link electronic media such as drawings and manuals to the service assignment which can then be used by the technician on the device. Likewise, any pictures taken by the technician of service-related items, such as equipment damage, are automatically indexed against the assignment and sent back to Infor M3 for assessment by the back-office staff.

"As organizations continue to grow and optimize the size of equipment fleets, they tend to leave little room for capacity to be lost through breakdowns in field operations. Infor MFS was designed with this challenge in mind and delivers technology to help ensure that service technicians can be assigned to an order in the shortest possible time to fix the issue quickly and efficiently," said Brian Dunks, product director, M3 Product Management, Infor. "We are dedicated to building comprehensive solutions that tackle industry-driven challenges such as optimizing field service work."

Infor MFS is specifically designed for users of Infor M3. The solution delivers industry-specific features that are tailored to meet the needs of the equipment, distribution and process manufacturing industries. Integrated through Infor ION, a purpose-built middleware, the solution achieves the level of stability and performance that is necessary to carry out even the most advanced field operations.

Companies that currently rely on older mobile operating systems are looking to modernize processes by standardizing with consumer-grade hardware. The latest iteration of Infor MFS delivers access to customers in 11 languages on a wide range of devices including tablets, and Windows PCs with support on Android (version 4.4 and above), Windows (version 8.1 and above) and iOS (8.0 and above).
