Infinite Peripherals Partners With Mercury Payment Systems To Support Mobile Payment Solutions

Mercury point-of-sale dealers and developers now can access industry-leading mobile iOS solution with PCI-PTS 3.1 SRED certification

Infinite Peripherals, Inc. (IPC), the leading developer of mobile point-of-sale (POS) devices, has partnered with Mercury Payment Systems, LLC, a leading payment technology and service provider for small to mid-sized businesses (SMB). Through this partnership, IPC has integrated to Mercury’s payment processing platform, MercuryPay, to deliver cost-effective and secure payment solutions that are compatible with all of IPC’s products with encrypted magnetic stripe readers (MSR), including the Linea Pro and Infinea Tab

The Linea Pro and Infinea Tab enhance Apple’s iPhone, iPod touch and iPad with an encrypted MSR, barcode scanner, RFID and Bluetooth chip. These peripherals are powered by custom software to create a mobile system for POS as well as inventory management, asset tracking, ID verification and lead tracking.

In addition, the Linea Pro and Infinea Tab have earned PCI PTS 3.1 SRED approval – validating that these devices conform to security levels approved by the PCI Security Standards Council. The first mobile iOS solution to achieve this certification, the IPC devices play an important role in a merchant’s PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and potential adoption of a Validated Point-to-Point Encryption Solution.

“We are thrilled to offer our dealers and developers the opportunity to use Infinite Peripherals’ devices,” said Matthew Ozvat, director of developer integrations at Mercury. “IPC’s hardware is robust and SRED-certified; they have extensive deployments and a commitment to exceptional customer service. It’s an ideal partnership.”

Minimizing Risk and Maximizing Peace of Mind
To facilitate the Mercury-IPC integration, IPC collaborated with JR’s POS Depot, Mercury’s third-party key injection facility (KIF) in Sunrise, Fla., to arrange encryption services. JR’s KIF is TG3 certified and adheres to Visa USA Encryption and ESO standards.

JR’s injects the Mercury encryption (E2E) key into the Linea Pro or Infinea Tab encrypted MSR on the IPC device at JR’s KIF, thereby enabling the MSR track data to be encrypted directly at the point of swipe for greater security. Data remains encrypted all the way to Mercury’s secure servers, which offers peace of mind and helps minimize risks for both merchants and customers.

“Mercury is a payment service leader, offering their POS independent software vendors (ISVs) and dealers comprehensive technical expertise and integration support,” said Jennifer Brown, strategic relationship and program manager at IPC. “We look forward to a long-term partnership to provide IPC customers with quality solutions to enhance the user experience.”
