Handheld Announces Verizon Wireless Network Certification For Algiz 8x And Algiz 10x Tablets

Handheld Group, a leading supplier of rugged mobile computers, recently announced that Verizon Wireless has tested its ALGIZ 8X and ALGIZ 10X rugged Windows tablets and has certified them for use on the Verizon 4G LTE network. Algiz ultra-rugged tablet computers are designed specifically for fieldworkers in challenging environments.

The Algiz 8X and Algiz 10X are feature-rich, fully portable Windows tablets with numerous ports and connectivity capabilities. Both rugged tablets are IP65-rated and meet MIL-STD-810G U.S. military standards for reliable performance in the world’s toughest industrial and outdoor work environments, including exposure to dust, sand, water, humidity, varying altitudes, extreme temperatures, repeated drops and strong vibrations.

“The increasing mobility of workforces makes connectivity absolutely critical for Handheld customers,” says Jim Rimay, President of Handheld US. “Our users want a choice of reliable communications options for their mobile devices. Handheld’s rugged tablets allow fieldworkers to stay truly mobile, and the addition of Verizon 4G LTE provides a new way for them to stay connected.”

Algiz rugged tablets are designed to accommodate cellular (WWAN), wireless LAN and BT connections, as well as external antenna options. The Algiz 8X features an 8-inch capacitive touchscreen built from chemically strengthened glass, and the Algiz 10X has a 10-inch high-brightness projected capacitive touchscreen (resistive screen option also available). Both tablets feature long battery life with hot-swappable lithium-ion batteries, powerful Intel processors, and 4 GB of RAM with 128 GB Solid State Disks.
