Delaware Electric Deploys Clevest Automatic Vehicle Location 5.1

Solution is now fully operational for safety alerts, geofence virtual perimeters, post-incident reports and fleet maintenance

Clevest Solutions Inc., a leading provider of mobile workforce automation software including smart grid mobile, announced it has deployed release 5.1 of its integrated Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) solution for Delaware Electric Cooperative. Delaware Electric is the largest cooperative in the state of Delaware and is one of 11 electric cooperatives in Virginia, Maryland and Delaware that are members of Old Dominion Electric Cooperative. The solution will be used to manage 90 of the Delaware Electric’s vehicles as they deliver services to approximately 86,000 consumers.

The deployment was successfully completed within Delaware Electric’s project timeline. Clevest’s AVL solution is now fully operational for safety alerts, geofence virtual perimeters, post-incident reports and fleet maintenance, and is integrated with the utility’s ABB CadOps outage management system.

Dwayne Street, Technology Manager, Delaware Electric explained, “We selected Clevest AVL after making the decision to replace our legacy AVL system. We wanted a flexible solution that would give us an improved user interface, more reporting and better alerting capabilities. We also wanted non-proprietary in-vehicle hardware to support our mobile data needs over an LTE network. Clevest AVL not only met our requirements but also provided the option for us to host the solution on-premise.”

“We’re pleased with the successful, on time deployment of the latest version of our AVL solution at Delaware Electric,” stated Robert Dreskai, Director of Sales, Clevest. “Our flexible and scalable AVL increases safety and productivity for utility field operations, while shortening outage response times, and controlling fleet costs, fuel consumption and emissions.”
