ARI Named For A Second Consecutive Year To InformationWeek Elite 100

The ARI Driver Excellence program proved to be a leading innovation.

ARI, a leading global fleet services provider specializing in complex car and truck fleets, announced recently that it ranked 63 on this year’s InformationWeek Elite 100, a list of the top business technology innovators in the U.S. This is the second consecutive year ARI has been named to the Elite 100 list and the seventh award it has received from InformationWeek in the past ten years.

“It is an incredible honor to be recognized once again by the InformationWeek Elite 100,” commented Steve Haindl, executive vice president for technology and innovation for ARI’s parent company Holman Automotive Group. “The creativity, innovation and collaboration our team demonstrated to develop ARI Driver Excellence and bring to market was truly impressive, and I’d like to congratulate everyone on their hard work and on this tremendous recognition.”

In 2014, ARI brought together members from its IT, business development and fleet safety services departments to collaborate on the product that garnered this award, ARI Driver Excellence. This program combines online tools, vehicle telematics and other third-party data to improve employee driving techniques and thereby reduce fleets’ accident-related vehicle costs and increase productivity. The program includes an online driver skills assessment tool that is also integrated with state authorities and agencies to validate drivers’ licenses and pull motor vehicle records. The system automatically assigns targeted online training to drivers. It can also receive telematics data through connected vehicle technology for real-time data collection of driver behavior and in-vehicle coaching. Additional tools include driver scorecards, key performance indicators and actionable alerts.

"Gone are the day's IT could run as an entity unto itself. If IT isn't part of product development, or marketing, or customer service, your company risks falling behind in the era of digital business. At InformationWeek, we talk about this as 'IT Without Borders,' as we see the best IT leaders tearing down traditional borders to help every department leverage technologies such as data analytics, cloud, and mobility. The 2015 InformationWeek Elite 100 spotlights companies at which IT is not only inseparable from every department, it's pivotal to every customer experience," said InformationWeek Editor Chris Murphy.

This is InformationWeek’s 27th year identifying and honoring the nation's most innovative users of information technology. The InformationWeek Elite 100 research tracks the technology-based investments, strategies, and results of some of the best-known organizations in the country. Unique among corporate rankings, the InformationWeek Elite 100 spotlights the power of business technology innovation.
