Everyone has workday interruptions — the inevitable instances of a coworker stopping by to chat in the middle of an important thought or a phone call at the very worst of times. While some interruptions simply can't be avoided (like these), there are many that can be. For instance, your employee is a nurse in a healthcare facility and needs to use an EKG machine on a patient. However, the EKG machine is nowhere to be found because the last nurse who used it never put it back in the proper place. So, the nurse spends 15 minutes searching for the equipment. Interruptions like this equate to less productivity, and most companies do everything in their power to make sure productivity is as high as possible.
