Psion Teklogix, (LSE: PON) a global provider of solutions for mobile computing, wireless data collection and RFID, and Varec Inc., a worldwide leader in automated fuels management systems, today announced they are working together to provide total mobile fuels management solutions to oil and gas, defense and aviation markets.

This partnership will expand Psion Teklogix' reach in the government market, as Varec holds the U.S. Department of Defense's global Fuels Automated System (FAS) contract for Base-level applications. By adding the Psion Teklogix 7535 mobile computing device to Varec's Global GSA schedule, Psion Teklogix becomes the sole rugged hand-held provider for all Varec-equipped DoD global facilities that require mobile fuels management systems worldwide.

Varec's approximately 600 military bases, numerous commercial airlines and U.S. airport customers will now be able to employ Psion Teklogix' rugged 7535 hand-held devices with Varec's FuelsManager suite in one efficient solution. Many of Varec's commercial aviation customers had been using an error-prone, time-consuming paper-based system to record and manage their fuels management processes. In addition, certain locations were using hand-held devices for mobile computing, but wanted a more rugged device with the added capabilities and superior certifications required to operate in potentially explosive environments.

With the new mobile fuels management solution, airport service companies are able to improve efficiency and accuracy in the fuel management process. All work instructions are recorded and transferred to the Psion Teklogix 7535 hand-held device, giving service personnel the ability to track fuel times and quantities, update the status of equipment, and place service orders if necessary. The new solution makes it easier for ground workers to do their jobs more efficiently, and provides superior levels of service to customers.
